About Green Man Gatekeeper

Inspired by the History, Myths, and Traditions of the Land Around Us

Unique Designs

All Green Man Gatekeeper designs are created by author, illustrator and sculptor Clive Barrett.

Working in a converted farm building on the picturesque Lydney Park Estate, situated between the Forest of Dean and the River Severn, he draws his inspiration from his interests in history, mythology, and folklore.

The designs - figures, jewellery, leather-carving and greetings cards - featured on this website are created in the Green Man Gatekeeper Workshop.

The ceramic sculptures are made in our ceramics studio - the Green Man Pottery.

These designs are unique and unavailable elsewhere,
and they are protected by international copyright.

In our physical shop, we also sell a selection of carefully chosen items to accompany our own designs.

For the time being most of our creations are only available by calling at the shop in the Forest of Dean.

However, we do hope to increase the number of items listed here on our website.

Other Things

If you recently visited our shop in the Forest of Dean and saw a mask/sculpture/something, but cannot find it on our website, where should you look for it?

We make many individual one-off pieces and we do not want these items to appear in two places and risk the possibility of selling the same item twice. Other items are sold before we have time to upload them. So, unfortunately, we cannot list everything we have in the shop on the website.

However, if you let us know what you are looking for, we would be happy to email you photographs and details.

Can you send me a catalogue?

Unfortunately, we do not have a catalogue, while it would be fun to design one, we probably won't. This website shows much of what we do, to see everything please visit our shop.

Trade Orders

I'm a retailer, wholesaler, can I sell your products?

In a time when there are far too many shops selling the same mass-produced goods, it is our aim to be original and different.

We prefer to retain our individuality and offer our personal customers unique products which cannot be found elsewhere.

As we hand-make most of our items ourselves, we simply do not have time to make them for others to sell.
